Responsible for leading ‘large transaction’ customer contract negotiation and in-life commercial management.
Ensure that customer commitments are delivered and risk and governance are effectively managed to achieve or exceed expected financial metrics as defined in the business case.
Oversee cross-functional internal and external teams to ensure fulfilment of contractual obligations.
This role is engaged in advance of customer award to evaluate commercial risk and develop deal negotiation strategy and parameters to mitigate.
Manage in-life customer contracts to maximise profitability and mitigate risk. Verify and approve milestone capex/opex funding for drawdown by Delivery and Service against approved contract business case and delivery plan.
Apply commercial governance to future capex/opex requests, work with Sales & Service Mgmt to manage
Contract Change Process; ensure that pricing structures, resourcing and other commercial terms are assessed and adjusted as needed to achieve targeted contract profitability.
Develop deal negotiations strategy to mitigate commercial risk, and lead/manage execution via direct negotiation with customer, and/or indirectly across internal cross functional teams, to assure profitable outcome against business targets.
Ensure commercial governance and internal approvals followed for all contracts. The function will develop a standard set of KPIs as commercial governance to proactively manage performance, and design and drive improvement programmes as needed with business partners to address identified gaps.
Help sales identify/evaluate profitable new business opportunities within the customer base. Participates in in client negotiations to achieve profitable outcome at contract signature; and works closely with customers, sales, operations, and service customer facing teams to ensure that contract commitments are profitably delivered from implementation through expiry.
Engage directly with customers and suppliers to proactively manage commercial risk throughout contract development and in life management.
Extensive experience in commercial, operations and service management in a customer facing environment delivering profitable leading edge technology and service telecoms solutions.
Experience of negotiating and managing complex multi-vendor/multi-product/non-standard managed solutions to tight service level agreements (SLAs).
Experienced contract negotiation and management of customers, internal cross-functional teams, OEM suppliers and service providers.
Ability to translate customer deal/solution/contract elements into commercial impact, and to develop/execute resulting contract approaches which deliver win-win outcomes with customers, vendors and partners.
Sufficient understanding of key CenturyLink services for customer market, the operational constraints/advantages and business plan targets to enable the candidate to create/drive customer profitability programmes through cost reduction, improved operational effectiveness, or other initiatives.
Experienced at effective executive-level communications both within/external to CenturyLink, articulating issues and facilitating resolution and follow through in high-pressure, high visibility situations.
Ability to build, develop and lead effective extended teams across internal CenturyLink stakeholders, vendors, partners and customer teams in the delivery of profitable, satisfactory and contractually-compliant customer experience.
