Position Title: Lead IT Engineer (Unix Application – Cloud - AWS)
Position Objective/ Summary:
The Lead IT Engineer Unix Application Engineer – Cloud - AWS will be responsible for the support and administration of all Unix Application activities along with AWS managed services support. This includes planning, coordination, and implementation of all changes in Unix Application(Jboss, Tomcat, Weblogic, WebSphere,Apache with cloud application like AWS and Azure) including performance and tuning analysis, capacity planning, systems support and planning, application support, and software upgrades. The Lead IT Engineer Unix Application- Cloud - AWS will review, approve and execute change requests to ensure successful change management. They will troubleshoot systems and network incidents to provide the maximum availability and optimal Mean Time To Repair. They will be responsible for ensuring a positive customer relationship. They will ensure the Operations Center has all documentation necessary to understand and support their clients.
Core Hours Sun- Thurs or Tues – Sat ( 8:00 AM – 5PM SGT) superior customer service through professional, comprehensive, and timely communication for all Incidents and Requests for Change
Ensure timely response, escalation, and resolution to promote the rapid restoration of services for all incidents
Through review and approval, ensure methodical and successful execution of customer change requests
Maintain network stability through advanced troubleshooting, timely resolution of customer incidents, and proactive maintenance
Maintain and improve client loyalty and Net Promoter scores
Partner with the Account and Sales team and aid in the regular Service Reviews. Work with the Account team to built a strong client relationship and grown revenue
Assume ownership of CenturyLink managed services, including both platform and application technologies
Create concise and accurate technical documentation for consumption throughout CenturyLink
Participate and collaborate with operations management teams to provide root-cause analysis for all client outages and failed changes in the environment
Establish standards and thresholds for monitoring and auditing to ensure stable and supportable operating infrastructures
Define the standards and documentation for the installation, configuration, and support of client applications
Review audit and performance results to facilitate proper capacity planning and service management
Participate in an on-call rotation and shift turnovers to other global support teams.
Drive for self-improvement in technical and non-technical areas
Deliver superior customer service through professional, comprehensive, and timely communication for all Incidents and Requests for Change.
Provide timely response, escalation, and resolution to promote the rapid restoration of services for all incidents.

The resource will support the implementation of AWS organizations, IAM policies and AWS network architecture including VPCs, Subnets, Direct Connect Skills & Experience:

Install, configure, document, troubleshoot and tune one or more of the following technologies:
Oracle WebLogic 11g / 12c
IBM WebSphere Application Server
Resin Application Server
Competent in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting of the following technologies:
Apache HTTP Server
Various load balancers (ACE / F5)
SSL / Certificate Management
General understanding of networking and the ability to analyze packet captures in a multi-tiered environment
Ability to develop and modify shell scripts to automate procedures
Deep understanding of the process required to capture a thread and heap dump and analyze the results.
General understanding of host and network-based firewalls
Extensive experience with one or more orchestration/automation platforms: AWS CloudFormation, Puppet, Chef, Ansible etc.
Practical experience working in DevOps team/organizations with applied skills in scripting, Git, Maven/Nexus and Jenkins.
Knowledge in AWS cloud infrastructure is mandatory; Strong work experience in SAN, OS, network, disaster recovery, high availability, firewalls, load balancers, and other advanced hardware concepts, clustering and VMWare etc. is required.
Should possess strong problem solving and analytical skills.
AWS Certified Solutions architect – Associate would be given preference; Azure Certification is a plus.
Experience provisioning, administering and troubleshooting a majority of services on Cloud Platforms.
Experience in automation using one or more automation platforms such as Python, Chef, Puppet, Ansible.
Responsible for cloud (AWS) security infrastructure, monitoring and compliance management of automated solutions for security features.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in related fields
7 - 9 years of Weblogic, Webshere, Jboss, Apache experience in operation and implementation support for a large enterprise
Practical experience in supporting AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, KMS, Lambda, IAM, Kinesis, ECS.
5+ years of hands-on technical support for customers in public and private cloud environments(AWS and Azure).
Experience with AWS, Azure or Google cloud service offerings preferred, certifications ideal
Experience with Windows Server, Linux, SQL Server, and networking preferred
Knowledge of software development lifecycle processes and deployment tools
