Job Summary

The Software Developer II will perform assignments in support of the company’s information processing needs by applying technical competency in information systems tools, techniques, and procedures. Apply system analysis and development techniques to assist business needs and provides project management or technical business knowledge to develop cost-effective and timely products. Direct project planning, organization, scheduling, implementation, and reporting activities or provide technical expertise to major business support areas.

Partner in a team environment to design, develop, code, test and debug new software or significant enhancements to existing software of moderate complexity. Develop solutions across many disciplines and be responsible for explaining solutions and procedures. Apply principles, theories and concepts and use methodologies, tools, documentation processes and test procedures to complete projects related to moderately complex software.

Job Description

  • Define development and maintenance needs, plans and systems requirements through discussions with business partners and Applications Development management.

  • Design and develop systems to satisfy business partner requirements and adhere to departmental standards by performing structured reviews of program/system design, reviewing test plans for the system, performing and reviewing application systems programming and testing, and reviewing system test results with business partners and Applications Development personnel. Recommend appropriate project plan adjustments and coordinate the final systems installation and ongoing maintenance activities required.

  • Provide for the timely and accurate resolution of business partner service requests, prompt replies to business partner or management inquiries, and regular feedback regarding application status opportunities and problems.

  • Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain applications software

  • Adapt to new technologies, particularly those providing reporting capabilities

  • Participate in walk through of designs and programs providing appropriate feedback to ensure the technical quality of an application and provide solutions to design and program issues

  • Develop understanding of business processes, products, and metrics to better communicate and translate business requirements into technical solutions

  • Must adhere to all development processes (CMMI Level 3 or otherwise deemed best practices) to ensure appropriate flow of work with onsite, remote, off-shore, and contract resources

  • Provide on-call support

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor 's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science

  • Experience in SQL utilizing Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server

  • Experience in C#

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS / DTS packages, and Microsoft Reporting Services.

  • Experience with ASP.NET and C# .

  • Experience PLSQL

  • 2+ yrs progressively responsible professional level systems analysis

  • Experience working in the telecommunications industry


Bachelors or Equivalent in Information Systems or Computer Science
