Job Summary

Develop credit and treatment strategies to minimize both collections expenses and bad debt for the Consumer Marketing organization. Responsibilities will include collecting and analyzing data to identify opportunities, development, tracking, and evaluation of credit and treatment strategies for both policy and automated processes. Perform ad hoc analysis as needed and validate and build targeting models. This work will involve extensive collaboration with a cross functional team to develop solutions to complex credit and treatment business problems. Employ techniques and theories drawn from statistics, optimization, generalized linear models, game theory, etc. as applied to business problems with in depth understanding of expense trade offs and net revenue maximization.

Job Description

Clearly communicate methods, conclusions, and recommendations with simple language and innovative visualizations to management and executives.

Work effectively on a team as well as a self-driven individual to research and develop cutting edge solutions for the business.

Develop and or evaluate for use treatment and credit models along with reason codes.

Use analytics to provide actionable recommendations on controlling risk levels and maximizing the opportunity of business growth.

Partner with legal and compliance to ensure all potential aspects of credit and treatment policy are reviewed.


Field of study in Statistics, Operations Research, Mathematics, Physics, Economics. Candidates with strong backgrounds in at least two of the areas and an advanced degree in one are preferred (relevant work experience may substitute).

Creativity and persistence in locating, extracting and analyzing any and all relevant data.

Programming experience with SAS, SAS Macros and SQL.

Experience with relational and non-relational databases.

Strong analytical thinking and ability to quickly pick up new methods, tools and programming languages.

Problem solving versatility: making the best decisions possible given the data quality and time available.

Record of success and top-tier achievement in prior work and education experiences.

Understanding of credit models and policy.

Basic programming and understanding of performance based analysis.

Defining and understanding tactics to approach business problems.

Development and interpretation of basic risk concepts such as roll rates, expense/reward trade off, and impact estimation.

Skill to develop business cases and performance metrics.

6+ years of experience with Bachelor’s Degree, or 4+ years of experience with Master’s degree, or 1-3 years of experience with Ph.D
