The position involves the provision of legal advice and services to CenturyLink’s business units, including the following: Enterprise Sales, Product, Commercial, Procurement, Network Planning and Infrastructure, Operations, Real Estate, Finance, HR and Marketing.
The role entails drafting and negotiating high value complex commercial customer and vendor transactions in respect of the sale by CenturyLink of a range of Network and Cloud-based and Managed Hosting products, services and solutions and requires management and prioritisation of concurrent matters under pressure of deadlines.
The position requires close liaison and collaboration with the Commercial department, as well as the ability to strategise and structure transactions for the benefit of CenturyLink’s customers, whilst mitigating or eliminating risks to CenturyLink.
Additionally, the position requires to support on an ad-hoc basis the provision of legal services to CenturyLink’s business units in France, Germany, Benelux and Italy.
The role also requires liaison and collaboration with personnel from other CenturyLink Regions across the Globe.
Drafting and negotiating high value complex commercial customer and vendor transactions in respect of the sale by CenturyLink of a wide range of Network, Cloud-based and Managed Hosting products, services and solutions and Professional Services.
Providing legal support and services in connection with the following: product development and contractualisation; commercial risk management; supply chain management and compliance; strategic network and other infrastructure build and optimisation; maintenance and improvement of operational business environment; effective management of real estate; debt recovery and credit management; employment relations and disputes; and marketing and brand awareness initiatives.
Supporting on an ad-hoc basis the provision of legal services to CenturyLink’s business units in other countries, including but not limited to France, Germany, Belgium, Spain and Italy.
Management and prioritisation of concurrent matters under pressure of deadlines.
Ability to analyse and negotiate customer and vendor disputes.
Ability to work collaboratively with internal business groups and external customers and vendors to negotiate and draft acceptable legal and commercial contract terms and assist in the management of risk and good corporate governance.
Ability to work independently but collaboratively within and outside of the wider fast-paced communications EMEA Legal Team.
Focussed on enhancing the customer experience, whilst at the same time mitigating risks to CenturyLink.
English-qualified Solicitor or Barrister with 4-8 years’ PQE.
Preferably either currently working in, or have had experience of working in, an in-house legal environment.
Ideally, experience of working in a legal advisory role in the following Industry sectors: Digital Tech; Telecommunications, IT or Outsourcing.
Good written and oral communications skills.

Commercial nous, sound business judgement and a pragmatic common sense approach.
Good attention to detail with good organisational capabilities.

Demonstrable experience advising clients in structuring highly complex commercial transactions and possess the gravitas to advise various levels of management across departments within CenturyLink.
