The VP Enterprise Architecture will report to the SVP Chief Data Officer and is responsible for partnering across the Strategic Planning & Transformation (SP&T) organization to lead the development of CenturyLink’s architecture standards and roadmaps. The VP will serve as both a catalyst for change and the advocate for standardization, ensuring that CenturyLink has the appropriate technical strategies, architectural services, and technology solutions that enable the company’s business goals, strategies and imperatives.
•Evolve the Enterprise Architecture direction and vision towards the CenturyLink agile framework.
•Partner with CDO and value stream leaders to develop Enterprise Architecture strategies and roadmaps that enable the business strategies expressed through the PI Planning Process.
•Define and document preferred integrated IT architectures required to support PI Value Streams.
•Build and lead a matrixed global team to support the Strategic Architectural Review Board representing different architecture domains (e.g. data, cloud, Integration, Security, Infrastructure, Performance. Reliability) to ensure the documentation and tracking of both the proactive and emergent architectures
•Foster a best-in-class engineering environment within CenturyLink, and have the passion to create a destination for top tier technical talent in the marketplace.
•Lead the definition of standards and patterns required to deliver industry leading enterprise platforms, the CI/CD pipelines that leverage them, and the automation required to support them at scale.
•Work closely with the Planning, PMO & Enablement team to define the cost impact of transitioning to new/emerging technologies and clearly communicate these to leadership team.
•Incorporate and develop new technologies to encourage innovation across CenturyLink with a focus on improved product development and customer experience.
•Responsible to ensure successful execution of technical strategies, architecture guidelines and standards by being the technical voice for architecture, analysis and technical strategies.
•Monitor emerging technologies and manage current relationships with 3rd party technology vendors
•Provides direction and directives to direct reports in the performance of their duties, establishing work priorities, and in achieving company initiatives.

Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of engineering experience.
7+ years of people leadership experience.
Experience building, supporting, scaling and operationalizing an enterprise cloud technology capability and platform to support high volume and highly reliable interactive business operations.
Ability to create an innovative vision for the organization by understanding strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
Identifies trends and opportunities to enhance business performance; able to align engineering strategy to multiple business priorities and plans across various business units.
A strategic thinker who is well respected for his or her business and technical knowledge and the ability to see the “big picture”.
