Job Summary

The Vice President of Solutions Sales is accountable for the overall sales and revenue growth, customer satisfaction, profitability, and churn reduction across CenturyLink’s entire portfolio. The portfolio includes advanced Security Products and Solutions, UC&C WAN and Managed Network Solutions, Media Solutions, IT Services and Managed Hosting Solutions, Transport Services and Solutions and Voice Products and Solutions.

The VP Solutions Sales leads a team of highly technical employees who partner with each of the sales organizations as solutions specialists across the globe to ensure we achieve maximum profitability and growth. Must have an ownership and service mindset with accountability toward business unit sales success that exceeds $1.5B annually.

Job Description

  • Lead an organization that has expertise in defining solutions that contribute to the sales and revenue objectives aligned to each business unit president with aggregate revenue responsibility that exceeds $1.5B annually

  • Define the strategic direction and initiatives to deliver sustained profitable revenue growth

  • Hold sales leaders accountable for growth of new products/services within established base and deepen engagement within customer organizations

  • Collaborate with eco-system leadership to establish and jointly work toward objectives focused on achieving a high level of customer experience

  • Optimize deployment of sales and leadership personnel, including recommendations for changing sales roles, coverage models or team configurations, to maximize sales productivity

  • Align team to specific segment business plans, sales strategies, and action plans for identified accounts to ensure objectives, goals, win strategies, schedules and action assignments are clearly defined and met

  • Accelerate existing vendor partnerships and develop new partnerships to serve our clients with the best solution and service offerings

  • Demonstrate the Company’s values, maintain a positive and open demeanor, encourage different points of view, and move the team forward through change

  • Provide timely information and communicate context for business decisions, recognize accomplishments, and foster teamwork and collaboration


  • 15+ years leadership experience in sales or account management with Bachelor's degree or 12+ years with Master’s degree

  • Demonstrated sales management experience in a related discipline, with a clear track record for consistently exceeding revenue goals

  • Success leading and managing large sales teams

  • Proven ability to hire, manage and motivate successful, solution-oriented sales teams

  • Demonstrated leadership ability, people-management and mentoring skills

  • Experience as a strategic member of a sales management team who contributes significantly to growth and development of the business

  • Advanced presentation, proposal design, negotiation and account management techniques

  • High energy level and a demonstrated drive to succeed.

  • Employment of ethical business practices required

  • Ability to travel 50-75%

  • Preferred work location: Broomfield, CO
