Job Summary

Contributes to the overall strategic vision of the organization and integrates a broad range of ideas regarding architecture. Recognized across the organization for architecture expertise and sought as a resource for resolution of unique or complex architecture problems. Undertakes multiple and highly complex architecture projects involving multiple disciplines and may impact multiple business units.

Job Description

  • Evaluate and understand the E2E ecosystem and architecture and help lead architectural optimization and change to scale with business needs (both application and infrastructure)

  • Participate and share leading code deployments to production

  • Lead in developing high level designs, architecture, specifications, enhancement services for custom developed business applications using Enterprise development toolsets.

  • Ability to participate and/or lead in all aspects of software development including planning, requirements analysis, architecture and design, testing, implementation and verification, validation and debugging.

  • Organize, plan, track & close out design problems associated with application performance. Coordinate design, implementation, production release activities of software team. Implement and monitor post-production release efficiencies and exceptions.

  • Candidate must exhibit exceptional communication and facilitation skills, and exhibit the excitement, enthusiasm and innovation necessary to motivate and engage teams on a journey of transformation.

  • Candidate must be comfortable with the ambiguities and uncertainties that arise in the early storming and forming phases of new, large initiative programs – and be exceptional in helping teams move from strategic plans to tactical implementation.

  • Candidate will drive one or more Agile scrum teams following Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) principles, customized to meet CenturyLink’s needs. Candidate should exhibit a “results over process” mindset and be flexible in adapting pure agile concepts to meet team and organizational needs.

  • Candidates will be expected to understand the big picture vision of the larger program/initiative, helping their teams adapt as the strategic vision and goals evolve. Candidates will help the team by navigating through various CenturyLink processes and organizational relationships to assist with team delivery (e.g. requests for infrastructure and access to various tools, follow required security and release management processes, facilitate team response on production SWAT/outage issues, etc.) Candidates must be actively engaged with their teams and help instill a sense of urgency in delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and 12 + years related experience

  • 8 years with Master's

  • C# programming skill with updated knowledge of latest versions of the language.

  • Strong MVC framework experience.

  • ASP.NET web application development skill.

  • Good understanding of UI technologies, Angular JS.

  • Must have an understanding of development fundamentals such as security, performance and scalability.

  • Web user interface layout/style design experience, with good CSS (Cascade Style Sheet) building skill.

  • Java/Spring MVC/Spring JDBC, JavaScript programming.

  • Database (SQL query) development experience.

  • Strong understanding of web services- REST, WCF and SOAP. Experience working with web servers/IIS web server.

  • Working knowledge of build and version control tools: Jenkins, Automated build script, SVN, Git.

  • Experience with workflow systems such as Metastorm/Camunda/Sarasvati/WF4 is preferred.

  • IIS knowledge.

  • Fully seasoned with typically 8+ years professional experience with a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and experience / 6+ years with a Master's Degree

  • Excellent communication, presentation and team facilitation skills.

  • Telecom industry experience a plus.
