Job Summary

The DDOS Information Security Engineer – the DDoS Engineer's primary function is to find solutions for constraints, new product features, and platform challenges. This person serves as the subject matter expert for the mitigation platforms and the engineering authority for new product features and capabilities. A successful engineer will possess experience and detailed understanding of: internet routing , DDOS volumetric scrubbing systems, layer 7 proxy mitigation concepts, and UNIX shell scripting. Engineers are expected to identify and design solutions for issues involving: new features, interoperability, vulnerabilities, limits, and constraints facing the platform and product. In addition, engineers are responsible evaluate current capabilities and predict future needs, then work with stakeholders, vendors and peers to define and pursue these future needs. The successful engineering is a strong communicator and relationship builder, using soft skills to influence stakeholders, achieve group consensus, and obtain resource commitment. The engineer is a de-facto leader in the organization and is committed to direct mentoring of junior engineers and technicians, while consistently demonstrating behaviors aligned with our core values.

Job Description

  • Perform engineering support for the DDOS products by developing solutions to: improve service, scalability and deliver new features

  • Support SOC & DDOS stakeholders with training and engineering guidance

  • Supports Network System Maintenance - plan, write MOPs, test, schedule and execute DDOS platform projects

  • Able to directly engages in advanced troubleshooting with stakeholders, including end customers

  • Manages DDOS vendors to drive resolution to: bug, vulnerability, interoperability issues while defining and advocating for future needs.

  • Identifies and defines configuration, procedures and best practices required to ensure platform surveillance, service delivery, and capacity

  • Receives and responds to engineering referrals from our business stakeholders


  • Strong practical experience with full understanding of internet routing concepts needed to delivery DDOS mitigation, specifically: BGP, GRE, & policy based routing

  • Experience evaluating and editing router interface configurations, route tables and routing policy on routers

  • Ability to learn and develop new techniques for scrubbing customer internet traffic

  • Performs data analysis to formulate explanations and descriptions of traffic related events & attacks

  • Experience using scripting or programming language to automate repetitious tasks

  • Communicates effectively by consistently choosing communication methods which ensure critical information reaches and persuades intended audience

  • Uses strong interpersonal skills to build partnerships with stakeholders and peers

  • Possesses leadership qualities and persuades stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes
